Grandparents!
Popeye and Mej visited us a couple of weeks ago. We can't wait to go to their new house in Tennessee to visit.

All through the night
Katie has slept through the night the past two nights!!! We couldn't believe it. This is how we found her this morning in her crib. She went to bed at 8:30 last night and slept until 7:00 It's amazing how much they move during the night. This was also the first time she moved on to her side and stayed there. Hopefully, this sleeping through the night will continue.

All things new
Katie has been enjoying some new things lately. One of her favorites is her burp cloth. She loves to hang on to it and swing it around. She has also been sitting in her boppy and playing in her exersaucer. Her feet already touch the bottom and she can turn herself around.

Lessons Learned and more Favorites
Jason and I have learned a lot about our little girl in the past two months. The most important one was finally figuring out that she has a milk allergy and not that she was just a gassy and fussy baby. The other important one she must get from her mother, uncle Tommy and Popeye. When Katherine is hungry, you better feed her or she throws a fit. Sometimes it's quite funny when she whines. She loves her night routine which consists of a walk, her bath and then eating. She loves being outside and must have that bath at night or she won't go to sleep. I think Jason would agree that she does some things that are like her mother. She's very good at sticking that bottom lip out like me. I am still pushing for basketball but as you can see in the picture she may take up boxing. She loves to hold hands and makes us laugh and smile a lot.

First time for Everything
We took our first road trip this past weekend with Katie. She is exceptional at riding in the car. We went to see a lot of Jason's family in Mississippi. It was the first time for most of them to see her. She took her first swim. We didn't have a swimsuit for her but she loved being in the water. We thought she might like it since she enjoys her baths so much. She also saw Uncle Thomas and Aunt Annie Ruth for the first time as well as our friend Judy.

Two Month Birthday
Katherine turned two months old yesterday. Jason and I took her to the doctor today for her check up and shots. She did a great job with the shots but has been a little fussy today. She is growing like a weed. She weighs 12lbs. 9oz. (90th percentile), is 24 1/2 inches long (97th percentile) and her head circumference is 16 inches (90th percentile). We are enjoying every minute with this not so little girl. She has really started to smile at us and things and follow us with her eyes. It is so fun to see her get excited when we talk to her and look at her. We also love it when she talks to us. She has some really big smiles with her tongue showing of course and I think she has giggled a couple of times too, or so it seems. I just wish her smiles were easier to get on camera.

Favorites
I don't know why we haven't posted these pictures. I love the first one. She was a lot younger in the picture. The second one is the only picture of all three of us, I think. We'll have to take another one since she is so much older now. I love the last one too. She loves to lay on her play mat and watch the lights and things that dangle down. We have play time every morning on our mat.

Mulhearn babies!
We found out that our friends Seth and Susan have a blog, so we stole this picture. These beautiful babies are Charlotte Mulhearn (left) and Setler Mulhearn. Setler was born three days before Katie and Charlotte the day before. Charlotte passed away on June 6th. You can't tell in the picture, but Charlotte had the most gorgeous eyelashes and eyes. Please keep Travis, Amanda, and her big brother, Davis, in your prayers. I had lunch with Amanda, Davis, Susan and Setler on Thursday. We had a really nice time. It was great to get out with Katie and see our friends.

Job!!!!
I have accepted a teaching job. God is faithful. I will be back at Maumelle Middle School. The same school where I did my student teaching and the long-term sub job all spring semester. The teacher I filled in for has decided to take more time off and will be gone for at least this whole fall semester. I will be a temporary teacher for now, but the principal said that she hopes it will be able to turn in to more than that. I am so excited to meet these new eighth graders but at the same time I am having a hard time knowing that I won't be with Katherine all day. We have had so much fun this summer.
